I just found out about Bernice's passing. I've been so upset. I can't believe it's been almost a year already.
Bernice and I worked at BellSouth together for many years. She was a doll and we had the best time laughing. I moved to NJ and now I reside in Woodstock, Ga. We went shopping for shoes a couple of times while visiting her daughter, Charisse. We had a great time catching up and talking about our BellSouth days.
I called Bernice last year and her number was disconnected. The last time we spoke she told me about her sickness and was very positive. She said, she was getting married to a wonderful man and moving to MS. I thought perhaps that's why her # was disconnected and we lost touch. I kept thinking about her and started searching. A friend on FaceBook emailed me and said Bernice passed away in 2012.
I will miss you my friend. You were such an inspiration and a happy positive lady. I know God is holding you near him and you're at peace.
Love always,
Your friend, Kathy Lackey

To the family of Bernice,
We are offering our sincere condolence to the family in the passing of Bernice. My family & I were neighbors on Norwood Court. Bernice I considered a very day friend. She loved God & her family and what ever she could do help or give a word of encouragement that was Bernice. Eddie & I had the pleasure of joining the family for a cook out at the home of Ada & Joe and we indeed at an enjoyable time and felt like part of the family. I am going to miss her but I know that her healing is complete and that memories of her faith & trust in God will always be a part of me. Bernice left alot of precious memories and that is what will help us to continue on in the coming days, months & years. Due to a scheduled out of town trip,I will not be able to attend her Homegoing Celebration but I will be praying for
for the family.

Mrs. Bernice was not sweet and kind, her spirit of joy overflowed me. She encouraged me every day at work and brought scriptures for me to read and prayed with me regarding my nephew who at the time was fighting cancer at the age of twenty. I use to tell her, your faith was as huge as giant and her smile light up the whole room because of her present. My condolence goes out to her family and friends. Mrs. Bernice you will be miss, but never forgotten.

I meet Bernice over 20 years ago when I moved to Savannah and became friends with Ada. While living there I spent time with Bernice with her sister Ada. She had a loving warm spirit and her relationship with Ada reminded me a lot of my relationship with my sister who were not in Savannah. Hanging out with them I felt like they were my family when I lived there. I last saw Bernice when her daughter Charisse had invited me to a celebration for her mother's life. I will never forget that smile and her welcome me there. I keep off with her fight with cancer thru Ada and my prayer group here in South Carolina pray for her and so they my family. We will continue to pray for you guys. I think you can take comfort in knowing that Bernice is resting in the bosom of her father in heaven. Ada and Joe. We love you

Bernice & my Wife Debbie Ezell worked together for almost 20 Years. She was always friendly & considerate. Our Son & Daughter knew Bernice and she always could say something to may them feel warm and kept them smiling. Went to Bernice's quite often and picked up Shrimp that her Husband had caught. She and Debbie talked often when Bernice left BellSouth. She will be greatly missed by Myself and my Wife, but she most assuredly is in Heaven enjoying the company of Friends & Family who preceeded her.
