Dear Shelly,
Please know that you and your family are in our prayers. I have thought of you and Bryan often over the years as I've prayed for Bryan's battle. Today I read the draft of a chapter on chaplain's wives for this book on women in the OPC that I'm editing. My heart is full as I think of you without Bryan. But I can imagine his overwhelming joy to be in Glory with his Savior. My prayers are for your comfort now.
In Christ,
Pat Clawson

Shelly and Family, Jane and I could not make the services but rest assured that along with our children Allison, Christopher (1stLt USMC) and Patrick (ENS USN) we were all saddened by Bryan's passing. Bryan was so much more than a dedicated and competent Chaplain, he was simply an amazing human being and a one in a kind friend. I was honored and privileged to serve with him in the same unit for nearly six consecutive years. Please know that my entire family prays for you and the boys. R. Gary SOKOLOSKI, COL, USMC (Ret)

Bryan Weaver, Chaplain to US Marines was employed by Our LORD to minister to me during a dark time in my life in 2000-2001. Our God demonstrated His steadfast love to me through Chaplain Weaver. Now that Chaplain Weaver has joined the heavenly host, praising God without ceasing, I join the earthly Body, asking Our LORD to pour out His spirit upon Mrs. Weaver and their sons with comfort and strength.

Dear Shelly and family, I am sorry to hear about your loss. I met you and Bryan in Groton, CT, when I was involved with the Navigator ministry at the Submarine Base. Bryan had a great influence on my view of God and my life. May the Lord be your comfort and strength during these hard days.

To the Weaver family, I have fond memories of young Bryan as he lived across the street from me on Walnut Street in Roaring Spring. Even as a child, he was thoughtful and kind to all so I am not surprised that he lived the exemplary life that he did. I lost touch with him after high school and was saddened to see that he suffered with cancer. My sincere condolences to you.

Dear Shelly and family, I am so sorry to learn about Bryan's passing. We went to high school together. I worked with his mother at the Morrisons Cove Herald after my own mother died from cancer, while we were still in high school. My Dad was also from Johnstown, so we had that connection. I remember playing volleyball with him at the Herald picnics. He was always a gentleman. My heart goes out to you in this loss.

Shelly and family, it is with utter sadness that I heard this news and my heart is broken at the loss of BattleChaps. He was the dearest of friends, a confidant, and the truest example of all that is good in our Navy Chaplain Corps and as a man. He will be guiding and ministering the Marines at heaven's gates standing watch with them always. We have all been blessed to have been on this earth with him and with you!!!

My thoughts and prayers are with you as you mourn Bryan's loss. He was a good friend, mentor, teacher, liberty buddy, and a chaplain who always showed concern. He will always be remembered and I know he will be greatly missed!

Shelly and family, please accept my most sincere sympathies on the passing of Battlechaps. He fought the good fight, and his indomitable spirit will live on through all those who are fortunate enough to say they had known him. I hope I was able to provide some small measure of relief to him because I know that I am both a better officer and person for having the privilege of calling him a friend. Heaven has gained a cantankerous soul, but I'm sure he will fit right in and have all the scrapple he can handle! Please don't hesitate to reach out if needed, [email protected].

Shelly and Boys, your dad was a one-of-a-kind man who gave himself to so many others in so many ways. We share so many phone calls discussing religion, history and politics - his agile mind and inquisitive nature were refreshing and stimulating. He left a lasting legacy of service to his family, his faith, his country, and his Marine Corps. I like the world a whole lot less without him but am so very grateful I walked with him along his earthly journey and look forward to that great reunion on that bright morning to come. S/F and God bless you all! Chaplain Jack Lea

We mourn with the Weaver family and continue to pray they are comforted by the truth that their dearly beloved no longer suffers but is now at home with his Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. Bryan labored earnestly for the Lord in his military ministry and embodied Philippians 1:21-24. His witness changed many lives.
