Clara Elizabeth Dyess

Clara Elizabeth Dyess - Woodbine -Clara Elizabeth Dyess, 89, of Woodbine, died Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at her residence after an extended illness. A native of Liberty County, she had resided in Camden County since 1961, was a graduate of Georgia Teacher's College and was a History Teacher with the Camden County School System from 1961 until her retirement in 1976. She was a past member of the Woodbine Woman's Club; member of the retired teacher's association and a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodbine. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian L. Dyess, former Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Woodbine. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Nita Dyess of Black Mountain, NC; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dorcas and Charles Moore of Claxton and Priscilla and Dan Krupp of Woodbine; a brother, Gwinette Brewton of Mapleton, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 12, 2007 at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Mary's. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 13, 2007 at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home in Claxton, GA. Burial: Brewton Cemetery.
