David H. Stephens - CLAXTON - David H. Stephens, 63, passed away May 6, 2009, at Candler Hospital in Savannah. The Emanuel County native resided most of his life in Evans County. He was a member of Union United Methodist Church. David served as Senior Vice President of The Tippins Bank and Trust for 22 years before retiring. He was past president of the Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of Ezel Lodge #335 and Alee Shriners. Survivors: his wife, Cynthia Stephens of Claxton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mandi and Tom Battey of Augusta and Marni and Stephen Bird of Columbia, SC; one brother and sister-in-law, Sonny and Marion Stephens of Panama City Beach, FL; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Roy Sikes of Springfield; three grandchildren, Kate and Thomas Battey and Elizabeth Bird.
