Dorothy Howard Obituary

Dorothy West Howard, 83, of Savannah, died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004 at her residence under the care of Hospice Savannah, Inc. She was born in Virginia, and was a Communicant of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John C. Howard, Sr., a daughter, Kathaleen Bednarski, grandson, Mark Bednarski, a brother, Rommie L. West, Jr., her parents, Rommie L. West, Sr., and Hilda Powell West. She is survived by two sons and daughters in law, Jim andKathy Casey of Savannah, GA; Tom and Patti Casey, of Richmond Hill, GA; three stepsons and daughters in law, Dr. John C. Howard, Jr., and Cindy Howard, James H. Howard and Jan Howard, and Stephen S. Howard all of Savannah; a daughter, Carol Williams of Tybee Island, GA; a stepdaughter and son in law, Louise Howard Hillegass and Jim Hillegass of Birmingham, AL; a son in law, Stanley Bednarski of Guyton, GA; 12 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Tu esday at the Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home. Rosary Service: 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of the Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with interment in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Sean C. Williams, John Bednarski, Ray Bednarski, Phillip Bednarski, Jason D. Howard, and John C. Howard, III; Honorary pallbearers will be: Trey H. Howard, Thomas P. Casey, Jr., Justin H. Howard, Jared S. Howard, James Hillegass, Jr., and Stephen Hillegass. Remembrances: Hospice Savannah, Inc., 1352 Eisenhower Drive, Savannah, GA. 31406. Hubert C. Dear cousins, Tombo, Jimbo, Louise, Johnny, Jimmy, and Stevie, Forgive me if I use childhood names. May Aunt Dottie rest in peace. She was a lovely lady, and I am sure that you will miss her. I send all of you many greetings. Your cousins in Austin are thinking of you.
