My condolences to the Meeks family. I volunteered with Dustin in the Free to Fly ministry. My daughters loved him. He was such a kind man. I definitely will miss that smile when entering the church. Fly high -my guy

I had the privilege of getting to know Dustin and his family during my Community Nursing Class back in 1999. He was such a special young man. I know the Lord welcomes him with open arms. Thank you for sharing this beautiful boy with us.

Dustin was always smiling and loving when I had him as a visually impaired student at Jacob
G. Smith Elementary School. He was a friend to all - students and teachers! He and Lee Shakespeare were so close - both adorable and so special to the teachers of Hearing Impaired and Visually Impaired! What a pair!!
God bless Dustin's family and friends- he was a special guy and will be missed!
I have such fond memories of Dustin.

When we think of our ol' friend Dustin, we'll always fondly remember his cheerful greeting at chick-Fil-A and his constant smile at church. He always had an encouraging word and asked how we were. He was a kind soul and such an example of joy. What a hole will be left here without him, but we are excited to imagine him in his new body basking in the presence of Jesus, who he served so well.
With prayers for peace and comfort for the Meeks Family,
Paul & Julia (one of Dustin's Birthday Buddies!) Wingfield

Sharon, Dennis and Family,
What an honor to know Dustin and to spend time in Chrysalis ministry with him. His big heart, his transparency and love for Jesus and everyone around him was amazing. We've only seen him occasionally in the past several years, he's never changed from who he's always been a loving friend to everyone and a true disciple of Jesus. There is certainly no doubt of his new home, his smile and Jesus's smile receiving him!

Dennis and Sharon so sad to hear of the passing of our sweet Dustin. We know that heaven just got sweeter with him there! May your hearts be comforted today and coming days as you reflect on what a joy he was to all of those that had the pleasure of knowing him! May God Bless each of you and our love is being sent to you! Sandy and Dave

Remembering my friend Dustin Meeks today. Thinking of his family and friends who will be gathering together to remember his life, to say goodbye for now or just see you later, and to celebrate his homecoming. Dustin was the type of person that touched lives by simply being present. He was someone that would always be sure to say hi to you. And even after I moved from Savannah he called me a few times to see how I was doing. I am thankful to have known him. Love and prayers to all of his family and friends.

I can't put in to words what it meant to watch Dustin grow up in our childhood church Aldersgate. His life itself was a miracle witnessed by all. God bless the Meeks family during this time of loss. Dustin is whole and healed now and receiving the many just rewards he should be getting in Heaven. God has certainly said "Welcome home my good and faithful servant."

I had the pleasure of serving with Dustin at the Lighthouse Ministry at Compassion Christian Church. He was truly a "beacon for all", offering a smile no matter what he was feeling. He will truly be missed, but I know that he has now abandoned his chair and is walking with Jesus.. his best friend. Rest in peace, little buddy. AJ

Big-D... You always held to the highest standards. You remembered everything about your friends. You showed love and interest for people and you consistently did it all in spite of the daily challenges you faced. Thank you for being my friend and for the example you gave for all of us!

Ill always remember Dustins contributions to my preschool class at Growing In the Son. His favorite activity to do with the children was to share what he knew about sign language. I knew he must have a wonderful, nurturing mother when he overheard me talking about being concerned about getting motion sickness on a cruise and he replied just take your mother with you and it will be alright.

Dennis, Sharon & Saundra,
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. He sounds like he was quite the son and nephew. It has been years since I have seen you Sharon and Saundra but, I always remember good people. Sharon, you will remember me as Ricky Lanier's wife, who worked at Wester Auto many years ago, and we are still married after 45 years. Saundra, I am Mack Moody's sister who passed away in 2011 and will always remember you.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time but, as we all know, he is with the Lord and what better place to be.
Love,
Debi Moody Lanier

I remember Dustin, well, as long as I've been alive. I grew up with him and his family at Aldersgate UMC. We hung out at church homecomings, were in sunday school programs and even went on vacation. I will always remember "THE SKI TRIP". He was and will always be the kindest soul I've ever met. He cared for everyone without hesitation. He never let you slip in or out of church without saying hello. He is a bright light in a dark world and will be missed greatly. I will miss his permanent smile he always had. Now you can stand and run my friend.

Sweet Dustin. There was never a time when we saw Dustin that he didn't ask about our family. ALWAYS thinking of others first. We will forever have wonderful memories of Dustin at The Walk to Emmaus, too. Shaaron and Dennis, you raised him so well, and because of his love for Jesus, there is dancing in Heaven today. Praying for you and your family. Love you.
