Eddie Mitchell

Mr. Eddie Mitchell - SAVANNAH - Mr. Eddie Mitchell, 73, had his transition Sunday, December 23, 2007 at Candler General Hospital. A native of Savannah, he attended the public schools of Chatham County. Mr. Mitchell worked as a Master Welder at Diamond Manufacturer. He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and devoted wife of fifty seven years, Dorothy Young Mitchell of Savannah; five children: Edward Bruce Mitchell of Detroit, MI, Larry (Sheila) Mitchell of Woodridge, VA, Jerald Mitchell of Savannah, Renee (Rick) Thompson of Hinesville, GA, and Michelle Mitchell of Pooler, GA; two brothers: Henry Robinson of Detroit, MI, and Deacon Robbie Mitchell, Sr. of Savannah; five sisters-in-law: Alfreda Harris, of New York City, Luvenia Fields, Elsie M. Aiken, Shirley (John) Roberts, all of Savannah; and Beulah Mitchell of Washington, DC, fifteen grands; twenty-three great-grands; two great- great-grands; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held 12 Noon, Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Central Missionary Baptist Church, 738 Hitch Drive (Hitch Village), Rev. Larry J. Stell, Pastor. Mr. Mitchell will lie in state from 9:30 a.m., until hour of service. Interment: Lincoln Memorial Cemetery.
