Ted and Betty are among the closest friends that I have ever known in Savannah. I love and miss them greatly. My life is so much greater because of them. Ted's passing is the end of an era for me. They are forever laid to rest near the place that they so dearly loved. They were family to me.

I remember Ted from being a regular at the Savannah Symphony as a child. I was thinking about him today, and smiling at the recollection of his warm personality. I like and admired him. I also remember my parents always spoke well of him.

For years, we saw, acknowledged, and spoke occasionally to Ted as we saw him in the neighborhood. He lived a few houses down. So it was with great sadness that we heard from another Thunderbolt resident that he had passed. He was our resident eccentric who served his neighbors by literally discarding the litter roadside in the neighborhood, by quietly demonstrating the essential lifestyle, and by faithfully supporting the cultural and civic functions of our community. Several years ago, I ran into him at a local grocery and somehow felt prompted to tell him how much I had appreciated his gifts over the years. In the Sixties, I and others were the beneficiaries of frequent viola concerts as we all rode the bus back to Thunderbolt after a long day of work in the city. When I collected in the neighborhood for the American Cancer Society, he filled me in on the latest research for cancer before he gave a generous donation. He greeted us with a friendly wave as he made his "collection rounds". He was there for fifty plus years and now is not. We miss you already, Ted Bryan-Turner.

Ted was my neighbor for 23 years. He was a wonderful, kind, eccentric person that was always on his bicycle riding around town and in and out of Bonaventure Cemetery. He would stop and chat. He had an incredible memory and his mind was full of many interesting views that he shared. He will truly be missed. Ted believed that my husband (clark) was from the lineage of the Lewis & Clark expedition. He would stop by our house every year on the anniversary of the beginning of the Lewis & Clark Expedition and would remind us. A kind and gentle spirit. Many pleasant memories. My deepest sympathy to his and family.

I often waited on Ted for lunch at the Pink House back in the late 1970's. He was always a pleasure to talk to and had a very kind, gentle spirit. My sincere sympathy for your loss.

He was a frequent visitor to Saturday morning services at Temple Mickve Israel. He was always warm, friendly and polite. He never failed to seek out whoever sponsored the luncheon to thank them for their kindness.

Ted and I sang together in Dr. Harry Persse's Handel Society. I was always impressed with his loving spirit, great intellect and many talents. My thoughts are with you.

When I was on the spd (ret) Ted and I met often when I patrolled Bonaventure Cemetery. He loved the place and it bordered his back yard. He used to swim in the river where I took a lot of breaks. He would take advantage of the privacy that the cemetery offered and this was never a problem. I moved out of Savannah in 1989 and lost track of him. He was a very interesting person!

When his health was good he was a regular at Congregation Mickve Israel. Sometimes he would even entertain us with his Violin. A good man.

He was a nice man. My parents liked him a lot. We are very sorry for your loss.
