Frances Blackburn

Mrs. Frances Porter Blackburn - OLIVER - Mrs. Frances Porter Blackburn, 85, of Oliver, died Saturday evening at her residence. She was born October 12, 1927, in Lanes, SC to the late Jonah and Glennie Brinson Porter. She was a very faithful member of the Little Ogeechee Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents are, her husband, James Quincy Blackburn, a daughter. Annette B. Bragg, sisters, Louise P. Ash and Elizabeth P. Edwards, and brothers, Arthur Porter and James Porter. Survivors, a son and daughter-in-law, J. Larry and Karen Blackburn of Oliver, a brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Frankie Porter of Gibson, GA, 3 Grandchildren, 5 Great-Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Porter will be held Monday, December 31, 2012, at 2:00 PM at the Little Ogeechee Baptist Church in Oliver with the Rev. Vernon Edenfield officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be, Evan Miller, Jamie Porter, Jimmy Roberts, Greg Porter, Brian Barrs, and Larry Dugger. Honorary pallbearers will be: Friends at Little Ogeechee Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Monday.
