Joe Magee Obituary

Joe Magee, 79, died Wednesday January 18, 2006 at his residence under the care of Hospice Savannah. He was owner and operator of Magee's Wallcoverings from 1973 to 1989, re-establishing the business in 2004 where it is currently operated by the Magee family. Mr. Magee was a graduate of Savannah High School class of 1946, a graduate of Armstrong State College and attended the University of Georgia. He was an expert diver and swimmer, enjoyed public speaking and was the master of ceremonies at all of his high school reunions. He was a member of the Toastmasters Club International, and served as the Vice-President and President of the Convention Chair of the Southern Decorating Products Association. He was a Pilot for the Civil Air Patrol in the 1950's and also enjoyed being a private pilot. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Johnsie Robinson Magee, of Savannah, son; Joseph Christopher Magee, of Lawrenceville, daughter and her husband; Connie and Mike Williams, of Savannah, daughter and her husband; Cathy and Phillip McBrayer, of Savannah. One brother and his wife; Maurice and Carol Magee, of Tucson, Arizona, five grandchildren; April, Scott and Emily Williams, and Matthew and Meredith McBrayer. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2006 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 21, 2006 in the chapel of Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. Remembrances: Hospice Savannah, P.O.
