John McCranie Obituary

John McCranie Jr. - LAKELAND, FL - John McCranie Jr. passed away on September 15, 2009 of Congestive Obstructive Pulmonary Disease in Lakeland, Florida. Mr. McCranie was born in Fitzgerald, GA on August 18, 1925. He graduated from Waycross High School and then served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He attended the University of Georgia graduating in 1952. He worked in sales for many years and later was owner of Hardeeville Business Services in Hardeeville, SC. He was also a founding member of the Hardeeville Business Association. His loving wife of 49 years, Louise Taylor, daughter, Ellen Peavey and grandson, Billy Peavey preceded him in Death. He is survived by daughter, Molly (Gary) Sauls of Furman, SC; son, John III (Sherrill) McCranie of Lakeland, FL; grandchildren, Raymond Peavey (Mark Watkins), Richard (Wendy) Peavey, Amy (Alfred) Boni, John IV (Kimberly) McCranie, Gary (Danna) Sauls, Sean (Lisa) McCranie and seven great grandchildren. A Graveside Service will be held at Bluffton Cemetery in Bluffton, SC at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 26, 2009. The family requests memorial donations be made in Mr. McCranie's name to the Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, FL 33823.
