John Ryan Obituary

John Marlow "Cookie" Ryan - RIDGELAND, SC - John Marlow "Cookie" Ryan, 69, of Ridgeland, SC passed away on Monday, July 19, 2010 in the Memorial Health University Hospital, Savannah, GA. He was born in Ridgeland, SC on October 1, 1940. He was the son of the late Charles Pinckney and Lou Archer Ryan. He was a graduate of Ridgeland High School. He was a member of the Okatee Baptist Church. He was retired from the US Postal Service. After retirement he worked with Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton. He is survived by his wife, Martha Mock Ryan of Ridgeland, SC; one son, John Marlowe Ryan Jr. of Atlanta, GA; four daughters, Dawn Ryan (Tony) Poteete of Nashville, TN, Dana Padgett (Jack) Anderson of Beaufort, SC, Deidra Padgett (Larry) Chavis of Bluffton, SC and Melanie Padgett of Chechesee, SC; one brother, Robert A. Ryan of Florence, SC; grandchildren, Joseph Alford Jr., Jesse Poteete, Kalin Langdale, Randi Langdale, Meghan Langford, Blake Eaton, Jessica Chavis (Austin) Webb, Reannah Chavis, Norman Drawdy and Brooke Drawdy and three great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm, Thursday, July 22, 2010 in the Sauls Funeral Home Chapel, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland, SC with burial in the Grahamville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 til 8, Wednesday evening at the Funeral Home. The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6113, Hilton Head Island, SC 29938 (please mark Jasper County resident).
