Dear Aunt Doris, Johnny, Ronny, Bev & Donna ~ Times like these are when I wish I didn't live so far away. :( Please know that I am there in spirit and am remembering Uncle JD...his twinkly eyes and great sense of humor! Just now I had fun sharing a funny memory with Nathan about him from years ago at one of the family reunions in NC (will privately share it with you on FB). May your many special memories of him help heal your hearts as you face the days ahead. Love, prayers & hugs for you and all the extended family ~Lisa & family

Dearest Aunt Doris, Johnny, Ronny, Beverly and Donna,

There really aren't words powerful enough to express how my heart aches knowing what you are going through. Losing a loved one that has held such a special place in your lives is beyond difficult. I want to say it gets easier, but I still cry when I think of Daddy. It does ease my heart to know he is with family that has gone before him, and that he no longer struggles. I picture a young, healthy man, sitting back with his mama, brother and friends, telling jokes and enjoying some good country food. The way Uncle JD liked to laugh and and cut up, I'm sure that is the case. He was a tremendous man, nurturing a wonderfully strong family that will continue to support each other with love, just like he did while he was here. Now, he's celebrating a new life in heaven. You will, from this point forward, have your own personal angel watching over you. May God bless and keep you! When you look back and remember all the good times, keep in mind you are always loved in NC. Rest in peace, Uncle JD. You did a fine job here on Earth. Until we all meet again....

Dear Doris, Johnny, Ronny, Beverly, Donna, Sadness fills my heart for you today as you prepare to say goodbye to J. D., however, now he is with his family in heaven . . . Daddy, Mama, Brother, Grandchild . . . and they are rejoicing in their reunion. Sad days will come but you are all strong and I know you will let God guide you and keep you focused because he is in a better place. I am sending our love on behalf of our family and because I want you to always remember your family in N.C. is here for you and loves you very much. J. D. was a wonderful brother and brother-in-law and I am proud to call him special! We love you all and will be praying for you.
