At times like this words seem so trivial compared to the heartache of losing the light of such a wonderful life as was that of Marilyn. She was the first person I met in Metter that treated me with an openhearted kindness that I needed so badly .After leaving my home and making the move to a small town . I was in the hospital and she came into my room ,she had the most beautiful smile on her face as she patted my hand and sat on my bed (something only family would do)she made me feel as if I was in the best of hands and needed no worries. She was a wonderful person who gave her life to caring for other s ,with more brotherly love in one little lady than you can find in a whole town full . I know that Marilyn is in the best of places as I write with love to her and her family . She was a light unto this sad world and she will always be thought of as one of the best people I was blessed enough to meet in this life .
May God be with you always with love from Janice/ Leon Strickland

Amanda,
We are terribly sorry to hear about your Mom. We loved her dearly although we did not see her as often as we would like. We were very close to her when she worked at Screven County Hospital.
