Robert Bobby Norton Doty, Jr. - SAVANNAH - Robert Bobby Norton Doty, Jr., 59, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Cathy Crotwell Doty, died Saturday morning, November 28, 2015, at St. Joseph's Hospital. Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of Robert Bob Norton Doty, Sr. and the late Maryanne Simerly Doty. Bobby was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He graduated from Windsor Forest High School where he excelled in swimming and track team competition. Bobby was a self-employed painting contractor for over 30 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and listening to all different types of music. Surviving are his wife, Cathy Crotwell Doty of Savannah, Georgia; two daughters, Ashley Doty of Chicago, Illinois and Madison Doty of Savannah, Georgia; one son, R. Brandon Doty and his wife, Lindsay, of Athens, Georgia; one step-son, Andrew Jones and his wife, Mallory, of Savannah, Georgia; one grandson, Mason Doty; his father, Robert Bob Norton Doty, Sr. of Savannah, Georgia; two sisters, Vicki Doty Driggers of Savannah, Georgia and Debbie Doty Floyd of Port Wentworth, Georgia, and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Wednesday at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue. The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Thursday morning at Trinity Lutheran Church conducted by Pastor John R. Hopkins. Interment will be private.
