Sara Portman Obituary
Savannah
After a courageous battle with cancer, she succumbed at the young age of 62. Her infectious personality made countless people cherish her friendship. We all are grateful for the wonderful memories she gave us. And also we can't say enough about the animals she loved: her pet store, Canine Palace, and the annual Wag-O-Ween fundraiser.
Sara was preceded in death by her parents John and Dorothy Evans.
Surviving are her husband, Greg; daughter, Bridgett Witt; sisters, Barbera Dickerson, Heather Snipes, Anne Hubbard, and Mary Kirkendoll, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, we ask donations be sent to the animal rescue charity of your choice.

Sara was such a special friend. I would stop by Canine Palace and listen to her funny stories. She was my first friend when my husband and I moved here. She was a lover of animals and cared for them in ways others only dream of. The Rainbow Bridge needed a new caretaker so Sara had to go fulfill the job. God broke my heart to prove he only takes the very best. Miss you

Sara really lived and loved life to the fullest. I know all her Family members and friends will miss her immensely. I have fond memories of Sara and will treasure those memories. I was so Sorry to hear of her passing. May her family find comfort in knowing her suffering is over and her love of all creatures, her family and friends will live on in all our hearts and minds.

Sara will be missed by so many people who loved her. We have lost such a wonderful friend in Sara with her laugh and beautiful smile. Prayers to Her husband and her sisters and fur babies who have lost their loved one.

Sara and I were coworkers at the Oglethorpe Post Office in Savannah, Georgia. She was outgoing, would go out of her way to help others, caring and a funny girl to be around. She will be missed
