Stanley Dlugozima Obituary

Stanley Harold Dlugozima - ATLANTA - Stanley Harold Dlugozima, 87, of Atlanta, formerly of Savannah, died November 29, 2007 at Hospice Atlanta. A native of Easthampton, Massachusetts, he served as a First Lieutenant in World War II and was stationed in the Panama Canal Zone. He graduated from Draughon's Business College and was a former manager of Belford Wholesale Grocers and former president of Dixie Engraving Company and Dixie Graphic Arts in Savannah. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sophie Satula and Ladislaus Dlugozima, and his brother, Walter Dlugozima. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Catherine (Kitty) Garvin Dlugozima; five daughters, Barbara King and her husband, Campbell, of Savannah, Brenda Battu and her husband, Larry, of Savannah; Hope Dlugozima and her husband, Thomas Lombardo, of Atlanta; Jill Poole and her husband, James, of Savannah; and Amy Peebles of Savannah; two sons, Sandy Dlugozima and his wife, Missy, of Atlanta, and Mark Dlugozima and his wife, Jennifer, of Savannah; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Cline and her husband, Barry, of Savannah; Sarah Forrester and her husband, William, of Savannah; Victoria and Elizabeth Poole of Savannah; Lucia and Sam Lombardo of Atlanta; Joelle and Colby Dlugozima of Savannah; one great-grandchild, Carter Cline of Savannah; two sisters, Jessie Wallace of Dover, Delaware and Stella Levy of New York, New York ; a brother, Henry Dlugozima of Eastville, Virginia ; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, December 8, at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1003 East Victory Drive. Mr. Dlugozima will be remembered at Mass for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception at 12 noon on December 8 at Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to Hospice Atlanta, 1244 Park Vista Drive, Atlanta, GA 30319 or to the charity of your choice.
