T. Flowers Obituary

Dr. T. Michael Flowers - DECATUR - Dr. T. Michael Flowers of Decatur, Georgia, exchanged his earthly residence for a heavenly one on October 26, 2015. Bro. Flowers, as he was affectionately called by everyone, was born in 1920, in Mangrove Cay, Andros, Bahamas. At age 17 he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior, and was called by God to a life of Christian service. He studied at the Bible College in Glasgow, Scotland. After spending time ministering in England, Scotland, and Canada, he came to the United States and lived in Detroit, Michigan before eventually coming to Savannah in 1955. Through the Southern Gospel Mission Association, Incorporated, (SGMA), he was instrumental in establishing seven Christian Assemblies in the southeast including Berean Bible Chapel in Savannah. In the early 1980's he and his wife, Ella, relocated to Decatur, Georgia, to continue their service to God. Bro. Flowers was very well read, a real student of the Word and traveled extensively. The International Bible Institute and Seminary in Plymouth, Florida recognized his scholarly contributions to Christendom and awarded him a Doctoral degree in 1985. Dr. T. Michael Flowers was again commended and awarded a Doctor of Divinity degree in 1990 by the then Carver Bible College. In 2004, his beloved wife of 52 years, Ella, went home to be with her Lord and now they are reunited forever. His remarkable life is celebrated by his daughter, Sharon L. Flowers of Decatur, Georgia; his son and his wife, T. Martin and Janet M. Flowers of Savannah, Georgia; four grandchildren, Tiffany and Taylor of Sterling, Virginia, T. Michael, II of Savannah, Georgia, and Maya of Terre Haute, Indiana; a host of nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends from around the world.
