Bishop William B. Gilbert The Man...His Life...His Ministry August 22, 1952 - December 18, 2014 - SAVANNAH - Bishop Bill Gilbert Founder of the Faith Hope Charity In Christ Evangelistic Ministries, and the Bound By The Covenant Connection departed this life on Thursday, December 18, 2014. He was 62 years old. He was a man of vision, a leader of passion, short in statue, but a spiritual giant, a compassionate servant. He was a living legacy whose life spoke volumes and was read of men. Bishop Bill Gilbert blazed the trail in Christendom for over 39 years. Bishop Gilbert was known to be an electrifying preacher, and has a mandate to build people in churches that they may build churches throughout the nations. He carried the glorious gospel throughout the United States, Europe and the Holy Land. He was characterized as a man before his time by many, and was consider a forerunner in the Christian community as he introduced many new and innovative ideas and methodologies to many churches in the area The Faith Hope Charity In Christ Evangelistic Ministries was organized in 1979 by then, Apostle Bill Gilbert was known for their praise and their love for God. It's popularity grew quickly in the Savannah community, and the recognized as the first Christian licensed outreach center in the state of Georgia. Bishop Bill Gilbert was a former Music Teacher in the public school system receiving a B.S. and Master's Degree from Savannah State College (Now University). He received a Masters of Divinity from Continental Bible College and a Doctorate of Ministry from Oral Roberts University. Many knew Bishop Gilbert as a recording artist for over 30 years, and has 5 CD's to his credit and was named a recipient in the Savannah Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2008. His signature song and testimony was For All Of My Life I say Yes Lord! He was a author of numerous paperbacks and articles. Bishop Gilbert was the founder of the Pentecostal Ministerial Alliance of Savannah, Georgia, a group of organized Charismatic Ministers with a decree to bring about unity among Pentecostal Leaders and then among all brethren. The organization has been in existence for over 30 years. In 2005 Bishop Gilbert was consecrated Bishop Primate in the Lord's Church. In October 2014, Bishop Gilbert was selected as Dean of Education for the Holy Communion of Churches, Impact Fellowship International Jurisdiction by Bishop Leonard Gibbs. We at Sanctuary of Praise Christian Assembly take this time to honor the life and servanthood of such a great preacher and teacher, Bishop Bill Gilbert. We shall never forget his faithful service to the people of God and dedication to the church ministry. He is in the arms of the Lord and forevermore shall be at rest. Four Grand-Nephews and Nieces, David, William (named for him), Kasharia, and Savannah; Spiritual Mother, Apostle Dr. Idell Cheever; Spiritual Father Bishop Luke Witherspoon (Pastor Juanita); Aunts, Helen Moore, Belle Moore (Leon), Uncles, Harold Howard, and Pastor John Carr (Apostle Linda), 3 Spiritual Sons, Ronald Daniels, Jr. Dontray Thompson, Elder Jerome Duncan, Eric Brooks, Spiritual Daughters; Pastor Connie Kitchens, Cassandra Buskey, Lisa Brooks, Missionary Delores Ling; a very special friend, Ms. Cynthia Garner, a host of cousins and other relatives, along with many other spiritual sons and daughters, and the Sanctuary of Praise Christian Assembly Church Family.
