Mary Elizabeth Hartzer, age 95, passed away peacefully on Friday February 21st, 2025 at her residence at Grand Living in Hernando, Florida. She was born on December 19th, 1929 in Melrose Park, Illinois, the daughter of George and Mabel (Piper) Eichler.
Mary is survived by her children Mark (Annette) and Jay (Debbie) and 3 grandchildren, Robert, Jessica & Jacob. She was born in Melrose Park and had a happy childhood growing up in Marengo, Illinois with her brother, George. Mary completed nursing school at Sherman Hospital in Elgin and later went on to achieve her Bachelors's Degree from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois.
Mary was a beloved school nurse for the Hinsdale, Illinois Elementary School District 181 handling school nurse duties for Elm, Oak, Prospect, Walker, Madison, Monroe, & The Lane elementary schools for many years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Marlowe; parents, George & Mabel Eichler; and brother George Eichler.
Mary loved life and entertaining. She and Marlowe loved traveling and visited every continent except Antarctica. They especially loved their summers in Hayward, WI and winters on South Padre Island in Texas.
