Robert Lemke Obituary

Robert Emil Lemke, 80, of Medina, Minnesota passed away suddenly at home on March 8, 2023.

Bob was born on November 22, 1942, to Lester Lloyd & Eva Mae Lemke (Peterson) in Park Falls, WI.

After graduating from Park Falls High School in 1961, Bob joined the US Air Force where he proudly served from 1962-1965. After his military service Bob attended the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1971. He had a very successful 30+ year career as a Production Manager and Quality Control Engineer with Unisys, 3M, & Medtronic, before retiring in 2006.

Bob was, above all, a great husband, outstanding father & grandfather, devoted brother & brother-in-law, cousin, uncle, & loyal friend. Bob was married to Judy Lemke (Gollon) for 50 years & had 3 beautiful children & 1 grandchild. Jason Lemke (Jen), born in 1970 to Bob & his first wife, Louise. Jessica Lemke, born in 1978 to Bob & Judy, and Esther Lemke, a gift from heaven, born in 2008. Grandson, Caanan (Jason & Jen), was born in 2007. His children & grandchild were the love of his life, his ultimate pride & joy. For over 50 years there were countless kids' activities. Whether it was dance, music, baseball, basketball, gymnastics, or soccer; he went to practices, games & recitals. He made it through 5 decades of doctors' visits, theme park rides & waterslides. Throughout the highest highs & lowest lows, he was always there to cheer them on, boost their spirits, or just listen.

Bob was an avid outdoorsman throughout his lifetime. He loved fishing, hunting, boating, golfing, snowmobiling and basically anything outdoors. He was most at home in the woods, or at his place in Hayward. He was also a big fan of professional golf, basketball, football and, of course, the Packers.

Bob had a wit and humor like no other. His predictable little quips & practical jokes got a laugh every time.

Bob loved deer hunting with Kim Lemke & friends, & never missed a hunting season. He especially looked forward to Fourth of July at Linda & Richard Solden's (sister) & getting together with the Fuerstenberg clan (you know who you are). And, of course, he would never miss a chance to get together with his life-long buddies (Paul, Rodney, and Sy). Golf outings were prominently displayed on the calendar so nothing got scheduled over them. There were Christmases and Easters with the Gollon family and many visits back and forth to Stevens Point. Family and friends weren't just the cornerstone of Bob's life, they were his life.

Its an understatement to say that Bob's 80-year life was well-lived. It's even more impossible to say how much he is loved and how desperately he will be missed.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Lester & Eva Lemke (Peterson), Sister & brother-in-law, Jean & Robert (Fuzzy) Fuerstenberg, niece, Lori Lemke & many other close family members and friends.

Bob is survived by his wife Judy Lemke, children Jason (Jen) Lemke, Jessica Lemke, and Esther Lemke; sisters Linda (Richard) Solden, Leslie Peebles; grandson Caanan Lemke (Jason & Jen) and many brother & sister-in-law's, cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.
