Erasmo Mata

ERASMO MATA passed away on January 26, 2009, at his home in Redlands, CA, at the age of 82. Erasmo was born on November 26, 1926, in Mentone, CA, and remained in the area all of his life. He served his country proudly in the Army during World War II and after returning to civilian life, began a career in the citrus industry in Redlands, where he became a foreman for Redlands Farming, where he spent t he next 40 plus years. Erasmo was a member of The Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church (formerly St. Mary's). He is survived by his son, Richard Mata of Redlands, CA; and his daughter, Sylvia Mata of Topeka, KS; his step-daughter, Olaya Ingro of San Bernardino, CA; and his step-sons, Joseph Chavez of San Francisco, CA and Eugene Chavez of Redlands, CA. He is also survived by his sisters, Theresa Madrigal, Virginia Mata and Margaret Sandoval of Fresno, CA; and brother, Edward Mata of Fresno, CA. In addition he had 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren. A Visitation will be held on Monday, February 2 at Cortner Chapel, 221 Brookside Ave. in Redlands, CA from 9-10:30 A.M. followed by a Graveside at Hillside Memorial Park in Redlands, CA at 11:00 A.M.
