FERN KRAMER Obituary

FERN KRAMER passed peacefully in the early morning of May 1, 2010, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law. She was diagnosed just 53 days prior with pancreatic cancer and met the Lord much too soon. She was born the youngest of seven children to James and Stella Mackey on September 21, 1928. Growing up she had the love and protection of all her sib lings after losing her mother at the age of four. Her life was lived as the person she was, unselfishly, always looking out for others and their needs, giving and caring till the end. No mother was ever as loving as her, she was our mom and we would have no other. She was born in Oklahoma, raised in New Mexico, but a Southern California resident for over 67 years. She worked in the restaurant business over 50 years; starting in a Woolworth's coffee shop. She moved to the High Desert in 1978, working at bot h Spring Valley Lake Country Club and The Green Tree Crown and Sword Room. She is survived by one sister, who along with husband, Bert Masoner (deceased) raised her from a child, Myrtle Masoner Unger, and husband, John of Spring Valley Lake, along with her chosen siblings, Geri Schutt (Tim), Calvin Masoner (Pat) and Bobby Masoner (Jeannie); daughter, Deborah Brady and favorite son-in-law, Joseph Brady; son, Michael Kramer and favorite daughter-in-law, Jeannie Kramer; her three grandsons, Tim (Denise) Krame r, Tom (Sarah) Kramer, Scott (Jenny) Kramer whom she was so very proud of. Also, her cherished three great-granddaughters and four great-grandsons, Sloane, Ambria, Morgan, Hudson, Carson, Gavin, and Dakota. Those who knew Fern knew a special person; one who took life one day at a time, felt blessed to have her family, and loved everyone with all of her heart. She leaves many, many family members and friends who cared and looked out for her, and for that we are grateful. A private family gathering will be held to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society in her name. "We look back upon our childhood and thank the stars above. For everything you gave to us, but mostly for your love." Wayne F. Winters.
