Gary Schmidt Obituary

Gary Michael Schmidt II
June 30, 1958-Sept. 22, 2015
Gary was born in Loma Linda, Ca. and grew up in San Bernardino, Ca. Gary attended Pacific High School. Gary leaves behind his wife Lisa Schmidt, sons Gary M. Schmidt III, Ryan Schmidt and Cody Schmidt, all of Grover Beach, CA. He leaves his mother Laurie of Highland, Ca. brother Glenn (Susan) of Strasburg, Co, brother Brian of San Bernardino, Ca. sister Rebecca (Victor) of Highland, Ca. several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Gary was preceded in death by his father Gary M. Schmidt Sr., and brother Kevin. Gary was a family man, he loved his boys more than anything in life, the only other thing Gary loved even closely as much, except a great joke of course, were the SF Giants. A Celebration of Life/Remebrance for family and friends is being planned for a future date. He will be missed dearly by his entire family.

"It is said that your life flashes before your eyes just before you die. That is true, it's called Life."
- Terry Pratchett

Gary had a life filled with giving and receiving plenty of love. The "flash" was surely a supernova.

Death may have ended Gary's life, but his memory and the love that you, his family and friends, have for him lives on. His love for his family is by far what I, personally, most admired about him.
All my deepest sympathy and hope for a gentle but swift healing of the heart to you.
Love, Kim, Scott, and Piper.

Thinking of when you two came down & you rode with Ray and me with Gary to meet up @ that hanger place. As Gary & I drove off, we were catching up & conversations were amount us. Then Gary looked at me & said "where are going?" I then looked back at him with that dumbfounded blonde stare & said "I thought you knew" So here we were in the hood we grew up in yet neither of us knew where we were. Then he started in with his (dry humor) jokes. I couldn't stop laughing as we drove around aimlessly. Yes we somehow managed to find you guys but the best part of that night was the halarious drive with Gary
