Maude Rose Obituary

MAUDE G. ROSE Born November 1, 1912, in Los Ang eles, and died on April 17, 2009, in Grand Terrace, California. Daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Nicol, she grew up in the Los Angeles area with her sister, Jean. Graduating from Hoover High School in Glendale in 1930, she worked at a news agency until her marriage to Stanley Rose in 1939. She lived in Hollywood until the 1950's when she moved to Colton, California. During World War II, she worked as a secretary in the aircraft industry. She subsequently worked in administrative roles for a general contr actor in Redlands, California, and finished her career as a secretary with the City of Colton. After retiring, she traveled extensively and was a literacy tutor, volunteer and member of the Board of Trustees with the Colton Public Library. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Bruce and Judy Rose of Melbourne, Australia. Her husband, sister and nephew, Robert Hussey, pre-deceased her, but she will be missed by Robert's family, Jill and Rob Hussey and Jacquie Acosta. Private burial at Montecito Memorial Park, Colton.
