Albert A. Discavage, 90, of Shenandoah Heights, passed away Monday night, March 21, 2022, with his family and caregivers by his side at his residence.
Born March 28, 1931, in Ringtown, he was a son of the late Albert V. and Anna (Bernotsky) Discavage.
He was a graduate of the former West Mahanoy Twp. High School, Shenandoah Heights.
Mr. Discavage was a decorated Korean War Navy veteran. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the China Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a machinist for Precision Tube Co., North Wales.
Albert was a member of Divine Merch Parish, Shenandoah, and the former St. George's Church.
He was an avid sports fan; the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies were his favorite teams.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was his brother, George Discavage.
Surviving are two brothers, Joseph T. Discavage, with whom he resided in Shenandoah Heights, and Thomas Discavage, of Hazle Twp.; one sister, Irene A. Discavage, of Pottsville; one nephew, George Discavage; two great-nephews, cousins and many friends.
A private Mass of Christian Burial and interment with military honors will be held at the convenience of the family. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to his special caregivers for the compassion, kindness and care they showed for Albert. Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S.
