Anna Malusky Obituary

Anna Malusky, 98, of Minersville, passed away Monday at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

Born in Buck Run, Aug. 13, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Stiney and Teckla Pudach Kruel.

She attended schools in Buck Run and Cass Township. She worked in the local garment industry.

Anna was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Minersville. Anna was part of a small group of parishioners who established Hillcrest Catering, where she spent many hours dedicating her time and talent to its success. She was also a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America.

Throughout her life, Anna was a constant example of faith, hard work and generosity. She was very proud of her Ukrainian heritage, and will long be remembered for her traditional ethnic dishes. Anna is survived by three children, Jean King, Jonestown, Marie Kuperavage (spouse, Albert), Ashland, and John Malusky (spouse, Lydia), Cressona; seven grandchildren, Annette Zaborsky, Franklin and David King, Karen Huff, Rachel Sansom, Dr. Adam Kuperavage and John James Malusky; eight great-grandchildren, Alyssa Devine, David King Jr., Ryan and Kaylee King, Kathryn and Ava Sansom, John Lee Malusky and Brayden Matthew Malusky; six sisters, Kathryn Kolody, San Antonio, Texas, Sophia Doyle, Minersville, Irene Davidovich, Newport, R.I., Theresa Oakill, Forestville, Nancy Melefsky, Frackville, and Helen Kruel, Buck Run; a brother, Stiney Kruel, Woodland Acres; nieces and nephews.

Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, 107 S. Fourth St., Minersville. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Branch Township.
