Catherine Corson Obituary
Born in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late George and Ida Mae Jacoby Burck.
She was a 1943 graduate of Pottsville High School and worked for a time at the former Pottsville Farmers Market, now the Majestic Theater. Following her marriage, she devoted herself to caring for her family.
She was a member of the former Mary Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. She was also a member of the St. Cecilia Choir at the former St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Minersville.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Corson, on Christmas Day 2008; a granddaughter, Tara Corson; three siblings, William Burck, who was killed in World War II, Regina Weand and Edna Buggy.
Surviving are her children, Mary Ann Harding (William), Washington, Ind., Regina Crochunis (Anthony), Pottsville, William Corson (Cynthia), Barnesville, and Joseph Corson (Suzanne), Pottsville; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Klinger, Pottsville; nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call at 6 p.m. Tuesday and from 6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury St., Minersville. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Visit www.dutcavich.com.
