Deborah Hartz Obituary
Born Nov. 18, 1954, at the former Ashland State General Hospital, Fountain Springs, she was a daughter of the late Clayton and Louise Schoffler Guinther.
Debbie graduated from North Schuylkill High School, Class of 1972.
She married David Hartz on April 10, 1976, at Grace Evangelical Independent Church, Locustdale, recently celebrating 40 years of marriage.
Debbie worked for the U.S. Post Office as a clerk for more than 20 years, most recently assigned to the Pine Grove Office, until her retirement.
Debbie loved shopping and camping with her grandchildren.
Dave and Debbie held season tickets at the Pocono Raceway for 10 years, proudly cheering on Dale Earnhardt Sr.
She was a member of Grace Evangelical Independent Church, Locustdale; Locustdale Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary; Good Fellowship Club, Ashland; and was a past financial secretary of Conyngham Township Firemen's Relief Association.
She is survived by her husband, David Hartz; daughter, Jamie Hartz, Ashland; son, Craig Hartz and wife, Alicia, Lancaster; granddaughter, Chelsie Hartz Warcola and husband, Adam, Locust Gap; grandsons, Bryce Hartz, Cole, Cory and Caden Weinreich; a great-grandchild on the way; sisters, Kay, wife of William Voeckler, Lavelle, and Judy, wife of Scott Zarko, Locustdale; brothers, James Guinther, Locustdale, and Jeff Fishburn and wife, Karen, Lancaster; nieces and nephews; her faithful dog, Nitro.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a memorial funeral service at 7 p.m. Wednesday from Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, 1323 Centre St., Ashland, with the Rev. Rose M. Marquardt, pastor of Grace Evangelical Independent Church, Locustdale, officiating. A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorial contributions in Debbie's name be made to Locustdale Fire Company, Firehouse Hill, Locustdale, PA 17945. Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home has charge.
