Diane Ramey Obituary

Diane Rose Ramey rejoined her beloved parents and the Lord on April 5, 2021, following surgical complications in Hilton Head, S.C.

Diane was born Aug. 19, 1960, and raised in Ringtown by Helen I. and Daniel G. Grow Sr. She never lost touch with her family's proud roots in Schuylkill County; she returned frequently, and ensured her children learned the region's history and spent time there every year with their grandparents.

Diane greatly admired her parents. Her mother, Helen, 1930-2016, was a homemaker who raised five children, and her father, Dan, 1930-2003, was a businessman and public servant, having been elected as sheriff of Schuylkill County and then twice as a magisterial district judge.

After graduating from North Schuylkill High School, Diane studied pharmacy and graduated from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy in 1983.

Diane pursued a remarkable career as a pharmacist and entrepreneur. After her first pharmacy job at Fair Acres in Media, she co-founded Burman's Home Health Care in 1987. The business soon established a retail presence in Brookhaven which lasted until its sale in 2003. Diane's career then took her to PerformRx in Philadelphia, where she met her husband, Terry, and later to executive positions as a healthcare compliance officer and sought-after national consultant.

Her greatest achievements, however, were the love and friendship Diane shared with her family and friends. She was also a true super-mom, both a full-time business owner and the proud mother of three children from her first marriage, Brett, Erica and Natalie Burman, who nicknamed her "Moopster." As adults, all three kids were accustomed to having strangers convey great affection for their mother. Diane was truly one-of-a-kind.

Her favorite pastimes included tennis, swimming, and a passion for nature's beauty. She particularly loved the ocean, and across three decades spent every summer at the shore in Cape May County.

Diane is survived by many who love and will forever miss her thoughtfulness, loyal companionship, strength of character and beauty: husband, Terry Ramey; children, Brett, Erica and Natalie Burman; siblings, Dan Grow Jr. (Donna), Jane Long (Gregory), Donna 'Dee' Guida (Ralph) and Russell Grow; stepchildren, Brian and Nick Ramey; Diane's other stepchildren and many in-laws; 13 nieces and nephews; innumerable friends.

Services will be held at noon April 17, 2021, at Oaks Ballroom in Glenolden, Pa. All are welcome to attend (masks required). In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation in Diane's memory to United Cerebral Palsy of Central Pennsylvania.

My most sincere and heartfelt condolences
I had the pleasure of meeting Diane, Nat and Erica on one of their legendary family holidays, Monte Carlo to Athens Cruise if my memory serves me correctly. As a guide, I’ve met hundreds of people, but only a few stand out and burn memories of a lifetime in your soul. Diane and her daughters did exactly that for me...
Godspeed Diane May your journey be epic

I am in shock at this terrible loss! I met Diane and Terry when we went through training at Amada Senior Care together and we became fast friends. Not too long ago I was going through a tough time and Diane said I should just come to Hilton Head and take a break. I wish I had taken her up on that offer. What a wonderful woman she was. Terry, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Diane and I went to Pharmacy school together in Philadelphia and she was my "little sister" in our fraternity, Kappa Epsilon. We recently reconnected here at the Jersey shore and I am deeply saddened by her loss. To her loving family, I am so sorry for your loss. She was a beautiful person, inside and out.

My deepest sympathies to Terry and Diane’s family. Diane and worked together at Ankura and was my travel partner for many events. She always spoke with her beautiful smile about building her home in South Carolina and spending time with her family. Family was a huge part of her life. I will miss her smile and contagious laugh.
