Dorothy "Joan" Moser, 88, of Orwigsburg, passed away Friday, while at Geisinger St. Luke's Hospital, Orwigsburg.
Born in 1933, in Pottsville, she was a daughter of Dorothy and Harry Holley.
She graduated from Pottsville Area High School in 1951 and attended Ford Business School.
She was last employed by LMBT Law Firm and Schultz Speicher Accounting Firm.
Joan was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Orwigsburg.
Joan's greatest joy was spending time with her great-grandchildren, Paxton, Killian and Jasper. She enjoyed family get-togethers and lunches with friends including her Pottsville High School graduation class. An avid gardener, she created beautiful gardens wherever she lived. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, aunt, friend and a great listener.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Thomas Moser.
Joan is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Moser; son, Thomas Moser Jr., husband to Cyndi Bulino Moser. She is also survived by grandchildren, Caitlyn, wife of Kory Maher, and Thomas, husband of Dominique Russell Moser; great-grandchildren, Paxton, Killian and Jasper Maher and Arianna, Skyler and Davion; sister, Shirley Kachmar, longtime companion, Thomas Kessler, of Frackville; niece, Lori Kachmar, wife of Anthony Distasio; nephews, Michael Kachmar and Craig Kachmar, husband of Deborah Kachmar.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grabowski Funeral Home, Schuylkill Haven. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will follow on the grounds of Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. The family asks that all in attendance are fully masked regardless of vaccination status. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. John's UCC Church, 236 E. Market St., Orwigsburg, PA 17961 or Hillside SPCA, 51 SPCA Road, Pottsville, PA 17901.
