Edward Daniel Paukstis Sr., 96, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 3, at the Luther Ridge nursing facility, Pottsville.
Born June 1, 1925, in New Philadelphia, he was a son of the late William and Anna Zanecosky Paukstis.
He was a graduate of the former Blythe Twp. High School and was a postal carrier at New Philadelphia Post Office, New Philadelphia.
He was a member of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, New Philadelphia.
He was a World War II veteran of the Navy and was active with the New Philadelphia Legion.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph Bryd and Vincent Paukstis.
Edward is survived by daughter, Deanna Carey, West West Terrace, and companion, Brian Wolf; son, Edward Paukstis Jr., New Philadelphia; brother, Daniel Paukstis, New Philadelphia, and his wife, Patricia Paukstis; nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, at Holy Cross Church, New Philadelphia, with the Rev. Monsignor William F. Glosser as celebrant. Viewing will be from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Thomas J. Bartashus Funeral Home, New Philadelphia. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
