Eleanor C. Melinchock

Eleanor C. Melinchock, 91, a resident of York Terrace, Golden Living Center, Pottsville, formerly of West West Terrace, died Sunday morning at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street.

Born in Pottsville, April 9, 1919, she was a daughter of the late William and Eleanor Edden Frankenstine. She was a graduate of Pottsville High School.

Eleanor was a member of the former St. Vincent De Paul Roman Catholic Church, Minersville, and a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, Minersville.

On November 10, 1939, she married the late John Melinchock, who died Feb. 21, 1996.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Ackalusky and Estelle Madara; and a brother, William Frankenstine.

Surviving Eleanor are a brother, Joseph and his wife, Rose, Pottsville; three sisters, Marie Caruano, Schuylkill Haven, Jane and her husband, Earl Murphy, Pottsville, and Ruth and her husband, Joseph Smigo, Pottsville; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday from St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, Minersville. Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home Inc., Sixth and West Market streets, Pottsville. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville.
