Frances T. Quirk, 84, of Pottsville, died peacefully Thursday morning at Providence Place, Pottsville.
She was born May 3, 1938, in Saint Clair, a daughter of the late William and Mary Malia Monahan.
She was a 1956 graduate of Saint Clair High School.
Prior to retiring, she was employed by the former Uniform Corner.
Fran was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, St. Patrick Seniors, where she was secretary for many years, Catholic War Veterans Post 1051 Ladies Auxiliary and a former Boy Scout Leader.
She was always there with a smile, trying to feed each and every one of us no matter the time of day or night, and ALWAYS had a hug and an "I love you" when you left her house. She is no longer in pain, frail or confused. She is now free to go to school, dance, clean, do laundry and iron to her heart's content.
If you knew our Mom/Mom-Mom, you knew she was the most selfless and loving woman to everyone. She and our Dad/Pop-Pop showed us all the epitome of true love and happiness, and now they are happily dancing together again with God. We will miss you more than you know Mom/Mom-Mom, and we will be forever grateful that we were lucky enough to have the BEST mother/grandmother through all these years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph M. Quirk, Senior Master Sgt. U.S. Air Force (Ret.), on Oct. 25, 2022; an infant granddaughter, Bella Florance Quirk; a brother, John Monahan; and a sister, Joanne Fanelli.
Surviving are a son, Joseph F. Quirk Sr. and his wife, Deborah, and a daughter, Linda Stock and her husband, Robert, all of Pottsville; seven grandchildren, Joseph F. Quirk Jr., Michael and Frank Quirk, Christopher Quirk and his fiancé, Kenny Bowman, Jennifer Brindle and her husband, Kevin, Nicole Kutsmeda and her husband, Shawn, and Kevin Stock and his fiancée, Kristal Anousinh; six great-grandchildren, Mikey, Isaiah and Rebekah Quirk, Liam and Braelynn Kutsmeda and Olivia Brindle; numerous nieces and nephews.
