George O. Hosler Jr., 70, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021, at Geisinger St. Luke's Hospital, Orwigsburg.
He was born April 24, 1950, in Pottsville. George was a son of the late George and Frances (Bayster) Hosler.
George was a member of First United Church of Christ, Schuylkill Haven, where he served on the Consistory.
He was a 1969 graduate of Saint Clair High School. Employed by Felty Transportation Co., George was a school bus driver for Saint Clair Area School District. He was commander in chief of Saint Clair Honor Guard and commander of Saint Clair American Legion. He was former President of Schuylkill County Veterans Trip Organization.
George was in the Air Force for four years and the United States Reserves for 23 years during the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy.
George is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Hosler, of Pottsville; a son, Nicholas Hosler, of Pottsville; a son, John Hosler, of Plymouth; his soul mate, Peggy Zechman, of Schuylkill Haven; a sister, Mary Louise Byrd, of Arkansas; a brother, Charles Hosler, of Brockton; nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 30, at James H. Evans Funeral Home Inc., Saint Clair, with the Rev. Shawn VanDyke officiating. The Saint Clair Veterans Honor Guard will honor George with a military service at the funeral home. The family would appreciate contributions to First United Church of Christ, 110 Route 61 South, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972. James H. Evans Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
