Irene A. Discavage, CRNA, 86, of Pottsville and formerly of Shenandoah, passed away Thursday morning, Nov. 2, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill E. Norwegian Street, Pottsville.
Born Jan. 28, 1937, in William Penn, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Anna (Bernotsky) Discavage.
She was a graduate of the former West Mahanoy Township High School, Shenandoah Heights, the Pottsville School of Nursing and the Reading Hospital School of Anesthesiology.
Irene retired from Sacred Heart Hospital, Norristown, as a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA). Earlier, she was employed as a registered nurse and CRNA at local hospitals.
She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah, and the former Saint George Church.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were three brothers, George, Albert and Joseph Discavage.
Surviving are her brother, Thomas J. Discavage, of Hazle Twp.; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to her special caregiver, Lynn Danouski, for the compassion, kindness and care she gave Irene.
A private Mass of Christian Burial and interment in Our Lady of Dawn Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights, will be held at the convenience of the family. Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S.
