James Thye Obituary
James A. Thye, 53, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill E. Norwegian Street, Pottsville.
Born in San Diego, Calif., on Sept. 2, 1967, he was the son of the late David W. and Susan J. (Branca) Thye, Schuylkill Haven.
James graduated with a bachelor's degree in computer science and artificial intelligence.
He was a member of St. Patrick R.C.C.
James was an avid chess player and reader.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Thye, on April 19, 2020.
In addition to his mother, James is survived by sisters, Carolyn M. Thye, of Ossining, N.Y., and Sister Mary Raymond, of Nashville, Tenn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 24, at St. Patrick R.C.C., 319 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, with Father Edward Connolly officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Pottsville. The family requests contributions in James' memory be sent to St. Patrick R.C.C. Memorial Fund, 319 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, PA 17901.
