Jane A. Faust, 92, of Biddle Street, Gordon, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023, at Providence Place Retirement Community, Pottsville.
Born Sept. 20, 1930, in Saint Clair, she was a daughter of the late Luther and Bertha Reese Griesel.
Jane was a graduate of Auburn High School, Class of 1948. She graduated from Bloomsburg State College in 1969, and later from Kutztown State College with a master's degree in guidance counseling.
She was employed as an elementary guidance counselor for North Schuylkill School District until her retirement.
After retiring, she pursued her love of travel, visiting many countries and all 50 states. Jane was a Master Gardener, enjoying her backyard garden. She also was part of the Pottsville stock trading group.
Jane was an active member of Simpson United Methodist Church, Gordon.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Harvey F. Faust, passing May 1, 1986; and sisters, Ruth Norris and Barbara Filippelli.
Survivors are daughter, Anne, wife of Robert Olbrich, Elmer, N.J.; son, Lee and his wife, Mary Ann, Gordon; son, Larry and his wife, Cindy, Catawissa; sister, Nancy Miller, Pottstown; sister, Carol Eckroth, Pottstown; sister, Cheri Tobin, Long Beach, California; brother, David Griesel and his wife, Sandy, Auburn; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday, July 10, at Simpson United Methodist Church, 119 Biddle St., Gordon. Officiating will be Pastor Susan Hocking. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will be private and at a later date. Memorials may be made to Simpson United Methodist Church or Hillside SPCA, 51 SPCA Road, Pottsville, PA 17901. Visit www.Fritzfuneralhome.com. Richard W.
