John Chuma, 74, lifelong Frackville resident, passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 5, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones.
John was preceded in death by his father, John Chuma Sr., and his wife, Susan L. "Susie" (Hinkle) Chuma, in 2001.
In addition to his mother, Lorraine, John is survived by his loving children, John Chuma III and his wife, Tanesha, Lititz, Angela Rein and her husband, Jason, Rye Brook, N.Y., Kristopher Chuma, Frackville, and Katie (Halko) Chuma; his loving partner and best friend, Tina Honushefsky; his sister, Georgine Fallon; his mother-in-law, Bernice Hinkle; his seven grandchildren, Kris, Elisha, Jaylen, Knox, Joshua, Asher and Alexander; his loving in-laws, nephews and nieces.
Friends are invited to his visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, at the Frackville Elks Lodge, at 307 S. Third St., Frackville. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, from St. Ann's Catholic Church, at 49 N. Line St., Frackville, with the Rev. Adam C. Sedar as the celebrant. There will be no visitation Wednesday prior to the service. Interment with military honors will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Please omit flowers; the family requests contributions be made to the Susan Chuma Nursing Scholarship Fund at 439 W. High St., Frackville, PA 17931, and will be accepted at the visitation. As president of the Schuylkill-Berks Baseball League, I enjoyed a warm, friendly relationship with John from 2010 when our league was formed until now. John was a helpful source for Schuylkill county,
Only the weather prevented me from delivering this message presonaly.
