Jonathan Joseph Murray, 28, of Tower City, passed away Monday, Oct. 25, 2021, as a result of a tragic fire at his home.
He was born Aug. 23, 1993, in Pottsville, a son of John A. Murray, Tower City, and Jann D. Sapienza (Rob), Manheim.
Jonathan was a 2012 graduate of Williams Valley High School. He also attended Bloomsburg University.
While in high school, Jonathan worked part-time at Boyer's Food Market. He worked his way up to assistant manager of the Lykens store. Jonathan was also the manager at Garage Bar, Tower City, a job he enjoyed and took great pride in.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Tower City, Tower City Loyal Order of the Moose, Garage Pool Team, Williamstown VFW and Orwin Gun Club.
Jonathan enjoyed playing a good game of basketball, going to concerts with his mom and sister and listening to music. He also loved his two rescue cats, Ziggy and Charlie. Jonathan had a natural gift to talk to anyone. Whether greeting you with a smile and a conversation at Boyer's, having a listening ear or giving advice at The Garage, he was the guy you could always depend on.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his sister, whom he was very close to, Allison M. Murray, Philadelphia; his niece, Norah; his aunts, Marie Rodichok, Peg Frankenstine, Maryanne Murray and Therese Garrett; uncles, Joe, Jim, Tim, Matt, Chris and Francis Murray; cousins, including Timmy and Joey Murray, who were like brothers to Jonathan; friends whom he thought of as family.
