Joseph Subach Obituary


July 15, 2014

Joseph J. Subach, 80, of 413 Market Square, Pottsville, passed away Tuesday at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street.

Born in William Penn, he was a son of the late Joseph and Pauline Baranoski.

A 1952 graduate of West Mahanoy Township High School, Joseph retired as an inspector for United Receptacle Corp., Pottsville.

He was an Army veteran, having served in Germany and the United States.

Joseph was a top dart shooter in the Shenandoah and Minersville dart leagues and won many individual and team trophies.

He was a member of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, Shenandoah; a past member of the Shenandoah Moose Lodge; and a member of the Brandonville Fire Company.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Daniel, Paul and John Subach.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Surevage; sister, Dorothy Pronio; two grandchildren, Michael and Christopher; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday from Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc., 40 N. Jardin St., Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Stanislaus Church, with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian officiating. Interment will follow Mass in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. Friends may call from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Monday utilizing the Jardin St. entrance of the funeral home. Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc. is in charge of arrangements.

I had a great time growing up in wm penn with both joe and jack. I have a lot of great memories (winter sleigh riding, summer sundown marbles baseball). i'M SORRY Dorthy had to live thru all of this!

rest in piece grandpa joe. Sorry we didn't get to see each other one last time before you passed. You were a huge part of my childhood and still kept in contact throughout these last 18 years.
