Justin M. Hoban, 42, of Pottsville, formerly of Minersville, passed away on Thursday, December 22, at home.
Born on October 24, 1980, in Pottsville, he was a son of Susan (née Hoban) Hernandez, Brookshire, Texas, and the late Michael Dronick. He resided all of his life with his maternal grandparents, the late Thomas and Elizabeth (née Soponis) Hoban, both of whom considered him their son.
He was a 1998 graduate of Minersville High School and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Penn State. He later earned his Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling from Alvernia University. He was a Behavioral Health Specialist and Mobile Counselor, working with adolescents in various school districts throughout the region. He also served as a substitute teacher in several area school districts, including Williams Valley. He was well-respected by teachers and parents alike.
In addition to his father and maternal grandparents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Steven Tyler Dronick; his paternal grandmother, Mildred "Mitzi" Dando; a maternal aunt, Holly Hoban.
In addition to his mother, Justin is survived by his sister, Alicia Rios, Texas; his remaining maternal aunt, Beth Dutcavich (spouse, Gary), South Manheim Township; his maternal uncle, Thomas Hoban, Cass Township; several cousins.
Services are private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Mount Peace Cemetery, Branch Township.
