Lee Anthony Walkusky, 66, formerly of Minersville, passed away Monday, Oct. 18, at his mother's home in Summit Station.
Born May 10, 1955, on Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Ill., he was a son of Sylvester Walkusky and Irene (Machamer) Walkusky.
He graduated from Minersville Area High School in 1973.
Lee spent many years working in San Diego, Calif., doing Navy contracts. He then transferred to Philadelphia, where he continued doing the same work, while residing in Deptford, N.J.
He eventually returned to Schuylkill County, settling in Saint Clair, while working at Lowe's Distribution Center. Upon retiring, he then joined his wife in Florida, until he recently returned home to stay with his mother and sisters while courageously fighting his battle with cancer.
Anyone who knew Lee knew him to be a fun-loving guy with a heart of gold. He loved fishing and to watch the Eagles and NASCAR races. But his greatest joy were his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, "Silver," a daughter, Jill Sleva, and a great-nephew, Scott Glunz.
Surviving are his wife, Suzanne, Florida; son, Ryan Walkusky and his fiancee, Shelby Barket; son, Lee Jr. and girlfriend, Charla, Florida; daughter, Jenny Sleva, Saint Clair; daughter, Lori Sleva, Saint Clair; brother, Michael Walkusky and wife, Lilibeth, Temecula, Calif.; sister, Diedre Lenard, Seltzer City; sister, Sheryl Doyle and companion, Ron Balcavage, Summit Station; nieces, Karen Lenard, Pottsville, Kelly Lenard-Chadwick, Brooklyn, N.Y., Shanna Doyle, Summit Station; nephews, Lt. Col. Mark Walkusky, USAF, Okinawa, Japan, Tim Walkusky, Escondido, Calif., and Michael Walkusky Jr., San Diego, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
