Leonard Yurickones Obituary


March 2, 2014

Leonard V. Yurickones, 71, of Everett, passed away Sunday at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Bedford County.

Born in Pottsville, Feb. 21, 1943, he was a son of the late John and Anna Fabian Yurickones.

Lenny served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.

He was retired from the Pennsylvania Department of State.

He was known in the community for his compassion toward animals and his love of his rescued dog, Flash.

He was preceded in death by his nephew, Eddie Jr.

Surviving are brothers, John, Texas and Eddie Sr., Saint Clair; sisters, Natalie, Saint Clair, and Victoria Diehl, Emmaus; dearest niece, Nicole Russo, Allentown; nephew, Eric Walls, Maryland; nieces, Veronica and Victoria, both of Texas; and his beloved dog, Flash.

A military service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Lenny's name to Bedford County Humane Society, 1108 Lutzville Road, Everett, PA 15537. Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Everett, is in charge of arrangements.

My deepest sympathy to my daughter Nicole and all the family. Lenny was a joy to know. I will always remember his crazy, funny stories he use to tell us. I pray that God be with you all at this time.
