Marlene Verbash Obituary

Marlene A. "Mar-mar" Gomosky Verbash, 48, of Frackville, died unexpectedly Wednesday evening at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in Ashland, June 16, 1964, she was a daughter of the late Vincent and Julia Navitsky Gomosky.

She was of the Catholic faith and attended North Schuylkill High School.

Marlene enjoyed her family, friends and neighbors and was affectionately known as "Mumzee."

She liked to ride motorcycles with her husband, John, and taking day trips to many attractions.

She is survived by her husband of 17 years, John R. Verbash, Frackville; a daughter, Pamela S. Verbash, at home; a sister, Sharon Graf, wife of Carl, Frackville; three brothers, Vince Gomosky and David Gomosky, both of Girardville, and Rick Gomosky and his companion, Jean, Ashland; a grandson, Nathan Verbash, Frackville; a niece, Jessica Gomosky, Minersville; nephews, Christopher Graf, Gordon, and Nicholas and Ryan Graf, both of Frackville; and her beloved pet rottweiler, Marshal.

Religious services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Albert L. Gricoski Funeral Home, Frackville, with the Rev. Robert Finlan officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marlene's name to the Hillside SPCA, P.O. Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901.

I had the pleasure of working with Mar at Broad Mountain years ago, She was a wonderful person who could always make you laugh and have a good time. Even after all these years I still can remember her like it was yesterday. I am so sorry to hear that she is gone, My deepest sympathys to her family.
