Michael Seritsky Obituary
Michael Seritsky, a dear friend to all, 74, of Mahanoy City, passed away Sunday, Aug. 1, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Allentown.
Michael was born Oct. 4, 1946, in Morea, a son of the late Eva (Puka) and Michael Seritsky.
He graduated from Mahanoy Area High School, Class of 1965.
He was a member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Mahanoy City.
He served in the Air Force.
He had worked for Yalena in natural gas construction.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Diane Lesser, Mary O'Neil and Debbie Sendatch.
He was the husband of Mary Ann (Yudinsky) Seritsky.
Michael is also survived by two daughters, Tracy De Avila, of Catawissa, and Kimberly Perez, of Shenandoah; a son, Michael Seritsky, of Mahanoy City; by four sisters, Dolores Miller, of Mahanoy City, Pat Perry, of Mahanoy City, Sandy Kahely, of Mahanoy City, Paula Potzner, of Hazleton; two brothers, Thomas, of Frackville, and John, of Frackville. He is also survived by four grandchildren who were the center of his world, Jasmine, Courtney, Lilian and Marisa; one great-grandchild, Myla; nieces and nephews.
Office of Christian Burial and Divine Liturgy at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, at St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Mahanoy City, with the Rev. James Carroll officiating. Friends and family may call 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday at Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. Interment will be in St. Mary's Byzantine Cemetery, Mahanoy City. Louis D. Wow, I don’t know where to begin! I’ve known Mike for almost all of my life and have so many fond memories. As a young girl I went everywhere with him and Maryann. I loved his cars and trips to the valley. Once his children came along I had the pleasure to babysit and that was always a great time. Even as we grew older and so many things changed he always treated me like family, not just family through marriage. My heart is breaking because I can’t be there in person to say goodbye and to hug my family. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers. I love you!
