Raymond Cola Obituary
Born in Pottsville, Oct. 12, 1946, he was a son of the late Danté and Edith Jean Cola.
Ray graduated from Nativity BVM High School in 1965. He graduated with a degree in accounting in 1968 from Goldey Beacom Junior College, Wilmington, Del. He then moved to Dover to work for ILC Industries Inc., followed by L.D. Caulk, Milford, retiring from the City of Dover in 2009.
Ray was gentle man who was totally devoted to his wife and family. He cherished his four grandchildren and time spent with his family. He enjoyed gardening, singing, cooking, traveling, carpentry and there wasn't anything he couldn't fix. He was a member of the Community Singers for many years.
Ray was a parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Dover, having sung in the traditional choir for more than 25 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of more than 47 years, Claudia Cola; a daughter, Kimberly Brown (Scott), Greenville, N.C.; a son, Dave Cola (Abigail), Christchurch, Va.; grandchildren, Morgan Brown, Nicolas Brown, Teal Cola and Wade Cola; two brothers, Alfred Cola (Dorian) and Danté Cola (Georgi); five sisters, Lorraine Kimmel, Jeanine Cola, Carolyn Bachert, Barbara Yannaconne (Arthur) and Tina Souchak (Dave); nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt. 10), Dover. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon Thursday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Dover, where friends may call one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State St., Dover, DE 19901. Letters of condolences may be sent and guest book signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
