Scott McCoy Obituary

Scott McCoy, 58, of Fountain Springs, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones, as he entered into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Aug. 8, 2021, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born Aug. 12, 1962, in Ashland.

He was a 1980 graduate of North Schuylkill High School.

Scott worked at State Correctional Institution/Frackville as a food supervisor for 28 years before retiring in April 2014.

Scott was an avid sports fan, playing baseball as a Little League pitcher for Ashland Little League and football in his early days of high school, which led him into becoming a huge Phillies and Penn State fan. Also, Scott was a lifelong member of the Boy Scouts, having grown as a Scoutmaster for Troop 780, Gordon, and watching his son become an Eagle Scout.

Scott always thought of others more than himself, and he was a loving and kind husband, father, brother, son and uncle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Marcella (Dillman) McCoy, Ashland, and two brothers, Joseph, and wife, Mary Ann McCoy, Mount Carmel, and Kenneth McCoy, Ashland.

Scott is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 36 years, Lisa Seitzinger McCoy, Fountain Springs; a son, Scotty McCoy, Maryland; a sister, Marci Eye, and husband, David Eye, Aristes; a nephew, David Eye and wife, Amanda Eye, Mount Carmel; a niece, Jennifer Eye, New Jersey; nephew, Jeremy Eye, Harrisburg; a sister, Candace McCoy and companion, Davey Hower, Ashland; a niece, Destinee Bebout, West Chester; a nephew, Matthew McCoy, Mount Carmel.

Scott is also survived by mother-in-law, Veronica Seitzinger, Bloomsburg; sister-in-law, Lou Ann Fickinger and companion, Terry Smith, Gordon; a nephew, Derek Fickinger, Ashland; brother-in-law, Stephen Seitzinger and wife, Jeanette, Pine Grove; a niece, Selah; a nephew, Jathan; sister-in-law, Lesley Romig and husband, Ron, Bloomsburg; a niece, Samantha Colegrove, Wyalusing. He's also survived by good family friend, Laura Pavlick, who helped him the past five years immensely; aunts and cousins.

Dear Lisa, Marci and family, I am so sorry to hear of Scott's passing! He was the nicest man ever! Lisa, your relationship together was truly amazing! I always admired the way you looked at each other! It was the truest love between two people I ever saw! My heart breaks for all of you! Lisa and Scotty so sorry to hear about Scott. He was a great guy always talked when I saw him especially at school when I would get out of work. We would have a conversation or a quick hello. He will be sadly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Bonnie ,Tom, Hope Palubinsky
