Shirley Schaeffer, 92, of Winter Park, Fla., formerly of the Schuylkill Haven area, passed away Saturday, Dec. 10, in Winter Park at the home of her son, Daryl.
Shirley was born Aug. 13, 1930, in Cressona, Pa., a daughter of the late Doris H. (Seidel) and William F. Sticher.
She was a graduate of Cressona High School, and then attended Ford Business School.
Shirley retired as the manager of Telephone Answering and Paging Service of Somerville and Trenton, N.J.
She was a lifetime member of St. Mark's UCC, Cressona, a 50-year member of Cressona Eastern Star, a Christian Women's Club member, and a former board director of the SPCA, Pottsville.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Schaeffer, who died March 28, 2012; three brothers, William, Carl and Jay Sticher; a sister, Jean B. March; and a niece, Jackie Sowers.
She is survived by a son, Daryl Schaeffer, husband of Karen, of Winter Park, Fla.; and three grandsons, twins, Colin (Laura) and Taylor, and Ryan.
Celebration of Life memorial services will be held at a later date, with the Rev. Kevin Fruchtl officiating. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park. The family prefers remembrances in the form of contributions to St. Mark's UCC, 30 Pottsville St., Cressona, PA 17929, or Hillside SPCA, 51 SPCA Road, Pottsville, PA 17901. Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home, Cressona, is in charge of services.
