Teresa E. Witman, 90, of Branchdale, passed away Thursday morning at home with family.
Born in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Mary Daggett Carroll.
Teresa was a retired garment worker.
She was a member of the former St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Branchdale, and was a member of St. Matthew's Church of Holy Family Parish, Minersville.
She was a graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School.
She was a member of Branchdale Ladies Booster Club, Branchdale Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and a member of International Ladies Garment Workers Union (ILGWU).
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Birch K. Witman; a son, Gary; and a daughter, Lynn; 10 brothers and sisters, Margaret Kadel, Sister Mary Emma, Martin Carroll, Anna Sukeena, Elizabeth Philbin, Eileen Moore, Leona Donlen, Dolores Garrett, Lewis Carroll Jr. and Dorothy Purcell.
She is survived by four sons, Dennis Witman and his wife, Carol, Mechanicsburg, Craig Witman and his wife, Bonnie, Branchdale, Keith Witman and his wife, Pam, Lake Wynonah, and Kevin Witman and his wife, Theresa, Avoca; a sister, Rita Larkin, Branchdale; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, including beloved niece, Roseanne Maley.
Funeral services are private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in St. Mary Star of the Sea Cemetery. Arrangements are by Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, Minersville. The family would prefer remembrances of Teresa in the form of contributions to Compassus Hospice, 1001 James Drive, Suite B34, Leesport, PA 19533. Contributions will be accepted at the funeral home.
